Tim Tebow was born on August 14, 1987, in Makati, Philippines, to American parents who were serving as Baptist missionaries at the time. When he was two years old, his family moved back to the United States and settled in Jacksonville, Florida. Tim was homeschooled by his mother, who had a degree in special education, until high school. He then attended Trinity Christian Academy, where he played football, baseball, and basketball.

In football, Tim was a highly decorated player. He was a two-time All-State selection and was named the Florida Times-Union's Player of the Year for his senior season. He was also a two-time Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Florida. Tim was heavily recruited by colleges and ultimately chose to play for the University of Florida.

Tim would go on to have a successful junior year, leading the Gators to another SEC Championship and a berth in the BCS National Championship game. However, they would lose to the University of Alabama in the title game.

Tim's senior year was marred by injuries, as he missed several games due to a concussion and a sprained ankle. He would still finish the season strong, leading the Gators to an SEC East title. In the bowl game, Tim would throw for a touchdown and run for another, helping the Gators to a win over the Ohio State Buckeyes.

After his collegiate career, Tim was drafted in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. He would go on to have a successful rookie season, winning the starting quarterback job and leading the Broncos to the playoffs. In the playoffs, Tim would throw for a touchdown and run for another, helping the Broncos to an upset win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The following year, Tim was traded to the New York Jets. He would see limited action with the Jets, appearing in 12 games. He would throw for one touchdown and run for another.
